Abstract:

Recent developments in longevity, internationally:

• We know US and UK are seeing a slowdown. Where else and why?
• What do we know about the causes and drivers of these changes?
• Are these indications a trend or a blip?  Are there similarities internationally?
• What are demographers and actuaries doing about it?

Drivers of Future Mortality:

• Drawing from a paper that is currently being written, potential drivers of future mortality will be discussed.
• Many of the drivers of future mortality may be obvious, but some will likely be a surprise.
